Serre Chevalier, France
Experience: Serre Chevalier is one of our 2 favourite ski resorts in the French Alps (the other one is La Plagne). It’s still an old fashion ski resort formed of 3 villages. The ski domain is simply amazing with a variety of terrains and slopes. It’s not very high even though there is plenty of snow, sun and stunning views. Not the typical ski in, ski out ski resort but it has so much charm.
Recommended stay duration: 7 days
How to get there: From North America: Delta Airlines to Geneva. From Europe: British Airways to Lyon or Grenoble.
Where to stay: Le Hameau du Rocher Blanc in Chantermerle
What to do: Explore the incredible ski domain starting with the famous Luc Alphan (it’s a black piste). On the left toward Briancon there are relatively accessible slopes with a stunning view on the valley. Go to the Pic de L’Yret and ski down in the middle of the forest. And don’t forget to bring your food to cook it on one of the barbecues in the mountains. A superb and unforgettable experience that is unique to Serre Chavalier.
Where to eat: Le Loup Blanc
